Just in Time For Christmas

Have you ever wondered what August Burns Red sounds like playing the Ukrainian Bell Carol?

Well a new album just came out in time for Christmas called X Christmas, its a mix of hardcore/screamo bands playing Christmas carols their way. I know it sounds freaky, but it's actually pretty good. I recommend checking it out on itunes or anywhere else you can find it.
The best song is definitely Carol of the Bells by August Burns Red and it's also fun on guitar.
Heres the tab, there was lots of versions but this is best one I could find.

Band: Story Of The Year
Album: The Black Swan
Release Date: April 21st, 2008

Overall Rating: 9/10

Breakdown:
1-Choose Your Fate: The beginnings a little weird but the songs ok, kind of heavy, this song really brings the message of what the albums about 9/10
2-Wake Up: Song preview of the album, i like the different synths that they use, definitely my favorite song  9.5/10
3-The Antidote: I love the bridge, the singing and guitar riffs go great together  9.5/10
4-Tell Me (P.A.C): Ok song, beginning snare sound kinda cool, not my favorite  7.5/10
5-Angel In The Swamp: I know the slow part adds to the song but I could really do without it, the lyrics are pretty rough  9/10
6-The Black Swan: its Ok, not my favorite  7/10
7-Message To The World: The vocals in the intro sound great, again the vocals are pretty rough in the chorus, "When you kill me, please do it slowly" but its sounds good  8.5/10
8-Apathy Is a Deathwish: Don't really care for the guitar in the chorus, bridge sounds good though  8/10
9-We're Not Gonna Make It: Vocals wit guitar sound good in the beginning, another one of those songs with powerful lyrics  8.5/10
10-Cannonball: By far one of my favorites on the album, love the guitar riffs. It may not be liked by anyone else judging by the popularity on itunes but i like it  9.5/10
11-Terrified: I'm not particularly fond of slow songs but this one actually has meaning XD 8/10
12-Pale Blue Dot (Interlude): It's not a song so I'm not gonna rate it
13-Welcome To Our New War: Pretty heavy, don't care for their screaming  7.5/10
14-The Truth Shall Set Me Free: I think it ends the album with a bang 8/10

This whole album is mainly about ending the war and all the tragedies war has brought us. It's pretty powerful to listen to but the albums pretty good overall. I recommend to everyone who is a Story Of The Year fan.

Senses Fail:Life Is Not A Waiting Room

I know this album came out a few months ago but I love it so much and I'm bored so I'm going to write a review for it. And you can't stop me. hehehehehe Here it is:

Band: Senses Fail
Album:Life Is Not A Waiting Room
Release Date: Oct. 7, 2008

Overall Rating: 9.9/10

Breakdown:
1-Fireworks at Dawn: Nothing special, just the first song  8/10
2-Lungs Like Gallows: Pretty heavy, proves that they're an emo band, the screams aren't my favorite part of the song. Still a good chorus though  8.5/10
3-Garden State: By far one of my favorites on the album, it's one of those song were you have to make a playlist of it over and over again. The little guitar riff is so catchy 9.9/10
4-Family Tradition: This is one of those preview songs, the lyrics are just painful to listen to, sounds like it could have been from their last album  8.5/10
5-Wolves at the Door: Definitely one of their heaviest so far. I don't care for the line, "  I want to drown, in a sea filled with Novocaine. I want to burn, on a beach where the sand is littered with razor blades" But it's an overall good song  8/10
6-Hair of the Dog:Definitely not my favorite but it's still kinda catchy with the guitar riffs  8/10
7-Fours Years: The most popular on the album, one of my favorites, great song  9.5/10
8-Ali For Cody: Again, one of the heavier songs, I like the chorus though  9/10
9-Yellow Angels: Pretty powerful lyrics, its pretty good  8/10
10-Chandelier: A totally different sound for these guys, i love it, especially the beginning  9.5/10
11-Map the Streets: This song is why I gave the album rating a 9.9 its awesome, it really completes the album 9.5/10
12-Blackout: It's an Ok song, pretty good chorus though  8.5/10
13-DB Cooper: The production quality is a little cheesy on this one but other than that its good, I especially like the intro  8/10
14-Coming Up Short: Not the best way to end it, don't get me wrong the songs fine it's just not really finishing the album  7.5/10

I totally recommend this album to everyone. If your not a big Senses Fail fan, you will be after you buy this album. Don't forget to leave your comments about the album and you can even comment about what album I should review next. What are you waiting for, GO BUY IT!!!!!!!
